FWIW,
I'm running D44's front and rear with 35's and a V8.
My son is on 35's as well with stock shafts in his D30 and alloys in his 8.25.

Massive axles aren't always the best choice. The diff on a D60 is massive and unless you're going to run 35 spline shafts and really beat on it, well there are less expensive options.

There are a lot of

D/30, C/8.25 with alloy shafts will work just fine for tires no larger than 35-36 inches.

I would suggest not spending "Alloy" money on a d35, it's rather pointless.

What I would suggest doing is replacing the D35 with an 8.25, D44, or a Ford 8.8.
The 8.35 (29 spline) is easy to comby and relatively cheap. The 8.8 is also very common. D44 is a great choice...if you can find one. When I get my hands on them they move out of my shop rather quickly.
