Default Rock Crawling tires

Well my Pro Comp tires are taking a beating from rocky trails- something we have plenty of here in Cali. Maybe 5-6 runs and they're beat to hell. I run them at about 15 psi

What is a good soft tire for rock crawling?
What pressure?
What do you all use and why?

MTR is hands down the best tire i have run. i run a 35" tire at about 8 psi on regular steel rims. I went from BFGs to MTRs and was amazed at the difference.

I have the BFG KM2 35s & will be going to the MTRs next. The KM2s are great. They like mud & clean out pretty good. Good on the rocks wet or dry. I also hear good things about the MTRs so I want to try them out.
I run 12 front and 10 rear on steel wheels & they flat work.

Wrangler MTR's. Great on rocks, mud, dirt, etc. I run about 11psi (will go to 8 in really loose sand) on fake bead locks (I inherited form the P.O.). I drive my rig to and from the trail head, sometimes 8-12 hours each way. The MTR's hold up well on the road, though they do wear faster than a proper road tire. I know guys that loathe the MTR's and rave about the KM2's, I've tried KM2's, and for the crawling we do here in the Southwest, I'll take MTR's any day, and if I were heading to CA, I'd definitely bring MTR's over KM2's.

My MTZ's work great in the rocks. They held up great for a few Rausch trips aired down to 10psi. MTR's are also a good choice.

finally someone mentions a rock crawling tire

pro comp xterrains were the best tire radial tire I've ran. The MTR's worked great too but the sidewalls are crap. I don't know what Kevlar is but it's not very puncture resistant apparently

Check out these pics- one & two are currently on the XJ. Like I said only about 5 trails run on these. Very little street driving. She's a trailer queen. Last pic is the first ones I had on front, with toe-in waaay off. But only about 1000 miles. Look how worn it is.
These are the ProComp Xtreme M2. NOT a fan

Don't care what tires you're running. If your toe is set improperly don't expect ANY tire to last over 2,000 miles. That statement has no real reflection on what that tire can do.

watcha think of the tread after a few runs? those are back tires btw-
Toe is fixed and tires replaced but they look horrible for only a few trips.
I was just curious how bad these looked compared to others and what others run across rocks. Pressure is a huge factor also so maybe I need to go lower. I dunno-

About what I'd expect from a street tire compound on rocks.

Mine do fine on the rocks......course the only 'rock' they see is either smooth & the size of a house and easily driven on, or crush & run, which always seems to sling some from between the tread when I get back out on the road.
