So, I hae a friend that is running a Big Diesel F250 and has it dect to the nines. One of his features that i would love to do to mine is a USB port plunged into the computer to reprogram it while either driving or sitting in your garage. He says that he can help hook it up but after that he doesn't have a clue because he only really does diesels.
Question 1: is it actually possible to do this or is this just a wasted project
Question 2: if yes (first part last question) Where can i find the software to do this and get the performance gains
Question 3: has anyone done this or was planing on doing it and might wanna help enlighten me?
Thankz for reading yall

im not a fan of hypertechs...
"the chrysler PCM cannot be flashed" i hear this a lot. i know of ONE person in ohio that can program one to your engine and drivetrain and tires and send it to you after you send in a core.
im doing this for my stroker. i dont have his info yet, should have it after the first when i see my buddys.
there currently is no tuner programer that lets you control on the fly like those diesel ones. its pointless for the 4.0 anyways. have one made for your engine and be done with it.

Just to clear this up.. The difference the programmers make on diesels and the difference they make on gas engines are two completely different things.. You can add over 100 hp with the right programmer on a duramax, while you might get 20hp out of most normal gas engines. And from what i've always read up on, any changes you make on the xj with a programmer will be overwritten and reversed in a short amount of time by the xj computer.
And on the fly programmers for the diesels are mostly made to change the settings from max power or race mod, to a lower setting better suited for towing without the hassle of normal reprogramming. Towing with the max power settings can mean a broken tranny on a diesel..
