Replacement radiator
Hi
Can someone recommend a good replacement radiator for my 1997 cherokee sport. I only got 4 years out of my current radiator. I flush my system every 2 years. And I noticed our country is flooded with foriegn aftermarket parts that just dont last long. Someone please recommend something durable that will last. thanks

Here's what I used
I have an 87 Comanche that sprung a leak somewhere in the top part of the radiator core. I live off an unimproved road and drive it almost daily, lots of bumps and bounces, potholes, etc for 4-5 miles of my commute.
I replaced my stock radiator with a unit from SPI/Spectra, model # CU78
It is an aluminum core with a plastic housing, bolted right in, no mounting issues or connection or clearance issues of any kind and has been running fine for almost 4 years. I too flush ever two years.
Here's a good link to check specs. I picked mine up at a local PepBoys for around $110 brand new.

I also recommend replacing your thermostat while you're in there, and possibly the hoses, as well as giving replacement the water pump itself some consideration, especially if your current one has many hour/miles on it; these part replacements are much easier to do with the radiator out.
My only issue with the current set up on this Comanche is that it is a closed loop system. I've found a relatively easy solution to convert it to an open system, but as far as the part manufacturer and the quality, I have no complaints. Good luck.

X3 on radiator barn! Very good quality, all metal. My only complaint is running too cool like kyledye25 said. I can live with that! I back flushed the heater core and engine while it was all apart, and replaced the stat, water pump and hoses. I won't be foolin' with my cooling system anytime soon
