I began installing my long arms over the weekend. Everything came apart easily EXCEPT for 2 of the welded nuts/nut serts for the trans crossmember broke.
What have you guys done to repair these? I ordered a bunch of M10 nut serts from McMaster but wanted to see if there was a better way.
My other thought was getting 3/16" plate, drilling the crossmember holes in it, welding a nut on to the plate and then making the holes in the frame larger so the welded nuts will fit in and then welding the whole plate to the frame. The logic being that if/when I do frame stiffeners (which seem to usually be 3/16" plate) the "repair" will blend in.
Any other ideas?
