My LCA bolts are stuck, these are stock control arms so they are "hollow", meaning I can see the bushing from the under side of them. I dont plan on re using them since Im getting new arms tomorrow. Whats the best way to remove them? I thought of taking an angle grinder up under there and cutting the bolt and bushing and trying to back it out then. What do you guys think about that? Also after I remove the LCA's should the axle drop to the ground so I can just pull my coils out? I have 3 inch lift coils now and am going to 4.5 I just need to make it as easy as possible to get the new coils in.

Don't cut the bolts you may have to re use them for the lcas I did, if you can get access to a cutting torch use it to heat the bolts up there just rusted get them red hot then try to break them loose they will come right out,

On the coils yes but you will have to disconnect the shocks, sway bar and may have to the draglink from the pitman arm also

My bolts were seized to the bushing. A sawzall and 14tpi blade made it easier. Cut between the arm and mount. On the frame side be careful of the adjuster between the arm and mount.

There are pics in my build on how I did it. You can use 1/2"x4" or 4-1/4" grade 8 and it will fit. Took me a while to cut the arms out but it sure beat grinding the bushing to save a bolt.

Got the LCA bolts out, but now my axle is pushed too far back to get the new arms in, how the hell do I get these new arms in? Also the top of the pumpkin on the axle is tilted forward a bit, Ive tried everything and cannot get these things in!

Did you remove both LCA? The UCA should keep the axle in a certain position without letting it move that far.

I had my axle on stands when I removed both LCAs. When I installed the LCAs I just man handled the axle. Lift it and push the arm in place, use a rubber mallet to line it up and to put the bolts in. Mine didn't go that far back but with longer arms I had to move it forward a bit.

Get a come along and attatch it to a friends Jeep to pull the axle forward. You can Jack up underneath the pinion to get it to put the upper in the right spot

well the coils are already in and the axle is not parallel with the rear axle, so its twisted up somewhere. What do you guys mean by jacking it at the pinion? THis is what im thinking. Put a floor jack in the middle of the axle..(just to the side of the pumpkin) attach a ratchet strap to the sway bar mount on one side and slowly back the car and keep checking till I have the holes lined up on the arms.
