has anyone every made removable carpet for their xj? I've seen in on wranglers but never on an xj. im thinking of doing it myself and just cutting it up and adding removable clips for easy removal... any advice before give it a go

 

I'd say just remove carpet bed line or paint what's there and get some floor mats. You could take those out easily.

 

ya I did rhino line the floor and I have floor mats and undercoated the bottom... just an idea ive been pondering for a while

 

Its not a bad one. It just kinda sounds like you'd end up with with bigger... harder to take out... floor mats lol.

What don't you like about what you have now?

 

ive herd it can get a bit noisy if you don't have the insulation of the carpet

 

I think that's debate able probably does get a bit louder. I guess it depends on how loud your xj is.

Did you get your carpet wet or something?

so I decided I will run carpet and yes it did get wet and was all mildoey and smelled so I threw it out... plan is to either buy aftermarket stock black carpet or just buy a cheap roll with insulation at the local carpet store plan is to cut it into five sections (driver side, pass side, rear pass rear drive and cargo) on each section will be 4 holes in the floor where clips will be hidden under seats etc holding the carpet down.... ill do a write up after mayb if it goes well.... please any ideas advice before I do so is gladly appreciate... ill post pics when im done!
