Sorry if this is not posted in the right place as I am new to this. Anyways, my rearend needs to be rebuilt so I am buying a junkyard one and having it sandblasted and powdercoated then regeared. When I get it regeared, obviously I’ll have to match the front and rear ratios, but I’m going to have the front done on the vehicle and the junkyard rear off the vehicle then swap them. Is it an issue for me to drive home with 4.56 in the front and stock in the rear if I don’t use 4wd until I get a chance to swap the rear out? (Which would likely be the same day or next)

 

I’d remove the front drive shaft.
