Recommend me a steering setup
OK so obviously I have a 1990 XJ Pioneer and it has some worn out, loose steering. Assuming I end up putting around a 2.5 lift (give or take) on this someday to make it a decent trail rig for beginner-level light to mderate wheeling, what upgraded steering kits are recommended? I keep hearing about putting in JK steering kits, can I get elaboration on that?
Thanks much, Jeepers.

I'm looking to go hd steering on mine too, ive done my research and eliminated the rugged ridge and rusty's kit as options because i read bad reviews on them. I know currie and crown make kits but can anyone comment on their merit?
on a side note i'd like to keep it under 300 if possible

My kit does not have a tie-rod that flops around when the ends get loose.
My kit does not require removal of on side of the tie-rod to make alignment adjustments...it's infinitely adjustable.
My kit uses standard over the counter TRE's that can be found at any auto parts store. The passenger side TRE does need to be tapered to match the mating drag link TRE, but I've got those on my site as well.
Better check your state and local laws regarding heims used for steering in vehicles that are driven on the road.
Drop pitman arms are only needed if you lower the frame side track bar mount. As long as the drag link and track bar are parallel you simply don't need to change it.
