Rebuilding/replacing a winch motor?
I had a Chicago Electric 8000# winch on my TJ before it died out. I paid $100 for it 4+ years ago, so it owes me nothing, but I'd love to rebuild it and mount it on the XJ.
It looks like water got into the motor, froze, and blew apart the end cap. (Forgive me, I don't know all the technical terms for these parts)
I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a replacement motor, what other model's motors would fit, or if it's even worth bothering with.
I would love to rebuild it if I can and use it on my XJ.
It's hard to tell in the pic, but the cap has about a 1/8" gap where the housing has blew apart.
Pic for reference:
