I've also heard that if your going to tow with it leave it on.

Quote: your civic had a low center of gravity and was meant to be a "racer" XJ's were designed to handle less than agreeable terrain, thus no need to have extreme handleing capabilities.
That is correct. Extreme handling is out of the question with an XJ, or any other SUV for that matter although it would be nice to have some sort of handling without grabbing onto the "OHHH-SHIITT!!" handle. But yes, I understand that it's a jeep and it's built to go slowly over shiit rather than quickly around it.

Also sounds like your asking a SUV to handle like a compact car...not gonna happen.
Where did I ask for it to handle like a cc? And you're correct, it's never gonna happen..

Quote: Yup! My UpCountry XJ came with the rear SB delete. Pulled my build sheet and saw the various different things done to the UpCountry.

I also always wondered weather having a rear SB would help any. The civic hatch I drove had 36 way adjustable coilovers, front and rear strut bars, front and rear sway bars, front and rear lower tie bars that go in between the lca's, and a c-pillar and b-pillar bar as well. It handled like a dream. I was able to rip STi's and EVO's in curves but soo long to that cause now my XJ handles somewhat ok up front but feels like it's gonna flip in the rear. I guess I'm not use to it yet :-/
I ditched mine as well, but kept my front.. so the suggestions about leaving it on if you are going to tow.... are you talking heavy weight or what. I have a 1000lb MJ trailer and sometimes haul a 1000# plus... i dont go on long highway drives towing that only about 5 miles from either lowes or home depot.

Ha I drove mine with a 6.5" lift and 34's from Montana to Louisiana with no sway bars and it was fine... BUT when I got here (Louisiana) the roads are so terrible that I had to put the front back on.. (added some JKS quick discos)... still havent had a need for the rear one and I pull fourwheelers/bass boats and stuff all the time

ill be towing my MJ trailer with a bunch of crap in it this weekend to jeepskool. we will see how it handles... though my front upper control arm bushing are freaking toast and are the next on the list. besides a license plate that reads EMP T PKT. this lift and the other components i have had to do is sucking me dry.
