Default Rear Shock Hoop

Hey everyone,

The site won't let me post in Fabrication section so I'll post here. My upper subframe where the rear shocks mount has ripped off. Anyone have an idea of where I could get a shock hoop made? I've been looking maybe 5 months now, tried that Cross Enterprise guy but he's very elusive and doesn't seem to care about his failing business. None of the local guys in Cleveland, OH are up to the task. I also don't own the tools to make my own.

Thanks

Just wanted to quote these sentences from the fab section rules:

"The Fabrication section is confusing and misunderstood. When we hear "fabrication" we think this is the perfect place to post questions about building things right? Perfectly logical assumption, but WRONG. This belongs in cherokee chat.

Fabrication is reserved for completed and under going projects, not for questions and general chat about fabrication."

I'm assuming you're looking to do this because your factory mounts are rotted out or something of the sort, yes? I've never seen a shock mount cross member like the one you're talking about, but a quick google search came up with these. Is this what you're after?

because?

What's the goal here? Your sig says you got fancy shocks. Sounds like they want to be paired with shock towers

Ruffstuff and a couple other fabrication sites sell shock hoops. If you want XJ specific hoops your best bet is to look at Boostwerks. I used F250 brackets to make mine but it took some work to get them to work just right. Also I recommend using rear stiffeners regardless of what kit you go with if welding to the outside of the uniframe to get a better weld. If you want something simple the JKS mount has had good reviews and gets away from the factory unibody crossmember.

You need the stock shock mount for the JKS to bolt to, mine rusted away. It just bolts in to inboard the rear shocks and eliminate bar pins.

I'm sure if you needed, you can drill new holes and run new bolts and nuts.

No it doesn't. The shock crossmember/subframe is separate from the floor and the floor is spot welded all over it.
