Default Rear shackle hits the body

i got full leaks on stock shackles and they hit. Should I do a Boomarang shackel or a bolt in relocation box with boomarang shackles or slider boxes? I don't want to cut the box out and bolt In a new on.

Do a shackle relocation since your angle sucks. You can run boomerangs to avoid hitting the rear frame as well.

As Jeepin'n said a shackle relocation will drop the leaf about an inch+ to allow both a better angle and because of the leaf drop, maybe a little further away from that bracket.

Also the pic isn't all that clear, did you cut off those bolts protruding out of that bracket? The ones that are in the direct line of fire to the leaf as it pivots back.

I used a sawsall to cut only the protruding threaded part of the bolts.

You suggest a relocation kit like the ones that bolt in or you cut the stock box out? I'm trying to avoid cutting the box out. With a stock or boomarang shackel with it? What about the sliders by liquid iron?

These bolt in as is http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-xj-...-kit-1117.html but they add inch to a inch and half lift and these are about the same lift and bolt in https://hdoffroadengineering.myshopi...relocation-kit and these about the same http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Products/RLS.html

I was thinking the liquid iron sliders that give no lift?

Are these lift springs? If so than the stock shackles are too short to allow full articulation. Leaf springs with added lift need longer shackles due to the increased fore-aft movement of an arched spring compared to a mostly flat (stock) spring.

Correct, often two of the bumper bolts protrude into shackle box and need to be trimmed flush to prevent contact of shackle.

The HD offroad bolt-in shackle relocation has been tried and trued on this forum. It's exactly what I'm going to put on being as I could use a little extra lift out back to accommodate the tire carrier.

You're being quite picky. If you don't want lift then you need to cut the existing shackle box out. There may be a way to gain minimal lift with the bolt-on boxes with the right shackle but I have no idea what it would be.

The solution is a longer shackle to go with the longer leaf spring (taller = longer during compression). Arched lift springs will not function properly with shackles that were designed for relatively flat springs. The stock shackle does not have enough 'swing' to allow full movement of leafs or to clear shackle box.
Boomerang and be done.

Rubicon Express Boomerang Shackles $110 and will add about 1" lift.
No Cutting Relocation boxes like RC $130 will add 2-3" lift. Might need longer shackles.
Liquid Iron Slider Shackles $250 bolt on, no cutting, no lift.

Cheap--No Cutting--No lift
**You can only have 2 of the 3**

If you have the $$$, I would go for the Liquid Iron Slider Shackles for your wants and needs.

Default Another Option

Iron Rock Offroad boomerang shackles. $79. Very well made, greaseable. Will provide minimum 1" lift. If your springs are new they may settle in somewhat, so the 1" might not be a bad thing. You'll still need to cut the ends of the bumper bolts as described earlier.
