option with damage for cut and fold?
So I want to do the cut and fold. My drive side is fine to do so but my passenger side found a stump and I believe it would take a day to do the cut and fold along with getting the sheet metal some what straight to fold for the cut and fold.
My question is would it be safe and still provide the strength if I cut the quarter fold over like 2" of the sheet metal to get the area straightish and sandwiche two plates of 10 gauge sheet metal in there spot weld the inner plate in and fasten the outside plate on some way to achieve a cut and fold look?
Some pic of said damaged rear quarter

That would be great to do if I had a place to spend the time to do so, but living in apartment and the only place I can do this kind of work is 45 minutes away. And have other projects that I would like to do while I'm out that way to maximize my time spent there.
Really if done right I believe it would strengthen a weak area in the body. Plus it won't be open for rocks and stumps as I plan on a bumper with a cut and fold in mind to protect the area after its cut and folded.

What I had played out in my head was cut to plates out of 10 gauge metal and cut the rear quarter leaving like 2" of it to fold in for tabs you could say then one plate would be inserted in from the cargo area and the tab sections will be welded to the plate then just to beef the spot the second plate on the outside and stich weld it in place with some spot welds to the inner plate. That is my idea.
