Default rear d44 cut to b front

How hard would it b to Fab the factory rear d44 into the front?? Has anyone tried this??? Would it be acceptable?? Not really acceptable but uhhhh...... mmmm what's the word I'm looking for..... I guess "worth it" .... yeah that's it, would it be worth it?? I'd like an answer to all the questions, not just a simple yes or no...

x2 thus making it weaker. Axles are stronger by design on the drive side of the gear than the "coast" side.

The way to do this is to find a 78-79 ford d44, and retube the axles at the width you want. It is a real PITA to get the tube out of the cast center section, and out of the forged C's, but wery doable. The done side is the cost of said tubing.. I have yet to price 3x.5 DOM Very doable.

get the front he told ya. cut to waggy width. use wagoneer axles in it then get a waggie rear to match. then you would match width and bolt pattern. and have d44 front and back

Also if money isnt an issue.. Reid Inner C's are around 200 a piece... would make it real easy. Once you realise how much work is involved in getting the c's off.

Rotation wouldn't be backwards. We put Scout 44s front and rear in my buddys CJ and swapped the gears. Front and rear are both low pinion and used the same ring and pinion.
