Anyone have any tips on getting my rear axle straight? Jeep has never been in an accident, installed SkyJacker 3 Inch lift with full leafs, took it to NTB and had an alignment check, they say my rear axle is out of whack.... Basically left wheel is closer to front and right is farther back...... WTH.... any ideas? and yes all components are new (leafs, shackles, u-bolts, hardware)

The leafs came as a completed pack, unless the pin hole was drilled a different distance on one pack than the other from the factory. The pins did suck right down into the hole on the axle, so there is no issue there. Another thing I noticed was my axle is somewhat twisted forward, due to the wedge like piece that is attached to the bottom of the leaf pack, is that normal? or do I need to remove the wedge? I can tell by the way the bottom shock bushing does not sit square on the threaded post. Attached is a pick of the leaf pack....

You didn't possibly install one leaf pack backward? The "wedge" should be installed so the thicker part is towards the back. It's too correct pinion angle
^ check that out, common mistake measure the distance from the center pin to the eye bolt. Buddy bought a YJ & rear leafs were put on backwards.

When installing new leaf springs I like to 'seat' them before fully tightening the u-bolts. In park, push on jeep forward then backward like trying to roll it. Then fully tighten u-bolts.
Effect is minimal because the centering pins should fit snug. But sometimes this is the trick to getting them evened out 100%.
Also, the XJ came from the factory with a 10mm difference in wheelbase. This shows up in a WB measurement yet the thrust angle is within spec because the difference is compensated for.
Maybe take your own measurements by 'stringing' it.

SkyJacker Sport 3 Inch leafs...... I went out last night and checked to makes sure the leafs were on correct and they are, fat part of wedge is toward the rear of the XJ. SteveMongr, I did exactly that during the install, actually I tightened up all components while on the jack stands, drove 1 day, read that I should have tightened everything up with the XJ on it's own weight, so I loosened everything up, shook it back and forth and side to side, then tightened everything back up... Drove it for 2 days and rechecked torque specs..... Thats when it finally made its way to NTB for an alignment...... I have unlimited alignments for 6 months, so I will get one done this week and post the readout......
