Default Real Cold Air Intake for the XJ

I heard that AIRAID is considering doing an MXP Series Cold Air Box Intake System for the Jeep Cherokee XJ. It would be much like the MXP system they currently make for the 12-13 JK, 07-11 JK and 2005-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, & FJ Cruise.

What do you think? Should AIRAID make an MXP Series Intake for the XJ?

I created a poll on my XJ Facebook page FT4DT to see how many people might be interested.

Please vote on my page and like it too.. I am positive that there is at least one person at AIRAID that checks out my page frequently.

for a street only jeep, sure.. not for me tho, unless it included a snorkel or cowl access point.

Good point.. I think that provisions for one or the other would definitely be needed..

There's a reason the AIRAID stuff is on JKs... those guys have no problem getting rid of massive gobs of money.

DIY cowl intake seems to work here. Our market already has the Spectre.

The Spectre looks like a nice unit. So does that THOR unit too.. Price point on those items seems to be about half of what the AIRAID stuff costs for the JK, so I see your point.

AIRAID would have to be a little more competitive in price to be a consideration in the XJ market.

Thanks for your input.

AIRAID makes a kit for XJ already IIRC. If you look at most aftermarket products for JK's they are pricey. Would most likely be less for the XJ, but still a decent amount.

They currently make a filter and housing for the XJ. It is a replacement for the stock airbox with an open top to the engine compartment.

Not really very helpful for offroading in my opinion. And that is why I don't have one on my truck now.

I am hoping that they would go down the path of a sealed intake system with provisions to get air from a higher location. Snorkel or Cowl, something like that anyway.

I bought the spectre off summit for $100. It had a $50 rebate with it.

I don't think I even paid 20 for my DIY snorkel... I spent a hell of a lot more on the gas to go get the PVC.
