I have the 6.5" Rough Country Long arm kit on my truck. The track bar is so thin and I feel that it flexes when driving and wheeling. Basically when i hit a bump the whole front end shifts left and right until it evens out. Its been doing this since the lift was new and its pretty scary. Besides that the thing is super small and I just want to upgrade it.
I was thinking about just getting the Rubicon Express Heavy Duty Track bar without their drop bracket. http://shoplive.rompalicious.com/sto...ack=googlebase
My question is will it work? I am going to need to find out how wide the frame side bolt up part is to make sure it fits in the RC Drop brack.
Has anyone considered this or done anything similar. A friend of mine bent his rough country track bar when wheeling once. I mean yeah they warranteed it but come on! Beef that thing up!

I have the RE extreme duty trac bar and it is AWESOME. Pure beef! You couldn't bend this thing unless you drove your jeep off a cliff. But I would just get the bracket. I got it and still have all stock steering components and it hasn't messed with anything. No bumpsteer or anything. You could sell your old trac bar to someone on here to get a little money back.

Dirtboundoffroad (a forum vendor) offers the IRO track bar/bracket on his site. It's only 190$ before discounts and such.
But to answer your question, if you have the RC double sheer mount, measure the ID of where the trackbar would connect and find the measurements for the RE HD bar. If the joint of the RE HD bar will fit, then its fine. But if you are buying new, get something beefy that comes with a mount.

Yeah I like the Rubicon Express HD Track Bar. The Rough Country kit with a 1" drop pitman arm, It doesnt say on Rubicons site how much their bracket drops the track bar. I just want my drag link and track bar angles to be the same to prevent bump steer.
In my opinion, the Rough Country track bar bracket drops way lower than the pitman arm, but my steering angles are good.
Also I bought the front diff used with all the goodies bolted on (steering, gears, etc) and the Axle side track bar hole was egged out from use. So I welded a plate in there a 7/16s hole drilled out, this caused the slot for the track bar to be tighter -- which ended up me having to grind down the heim spacer on the rough country track bar to fit. The steel was about 1/8" - 3/16s thick so i did have to do a little grinding. I think with RE track bar it should be fine.

I mean we dont have rock crawling out here but we still wheel -- it hasn't broken yet but it just looks like a flimsy little ****.
I had my friend look at my front end while i would turn the wheels back and forth a bit and hes like "Dude, that ****ing track bar! Do something about it"

Damn! yeah a buddy mine bent his bad. Before yours bent do u think it like could of 'flexed' or 'slightly bend' when driving causing driveability issues?

Alright yeah its next on the list, my rear locker came in so a couple weeks ill order up something with some beef.
Now Nate, are you running the rest of the RC lift? Are you using their pitman arm (which I might say was wobbly when I first put it on and had to put washers around it so it would push it up the splines)
But anyway I am just concerned that either the new TrackBar drop bracket wont be low enough or too low for a 1" drop pitman arm.
And please let me know how u make out with your new Track bar either through this thread or PM.
Thanks

I know I am a pain in the *** here.
But for any of you guys running Rock Krawler, Rubicon Express, or Iron Rock Offroad. Could you measure from the bottom of track bar drop bracket plate to the bolt hole. When you all get around to it. Enless I am really over looking this I just want to know if I am going to have to buy another pitman arm and go get it reemed out again for big tie rods.
It'll help me sleep at night
well at least until I order something.
Thanks again!

Your in lucky buddy, I have my lift sitting in my basement ready to install so I went and put a tape on it and the measurement your looking for on the RE drop bracket is exactly 5inches. Hope that helps.
