Default RE 4.5" coils

hi i have a 3" RC lift now and was going to add 2"spacers and shackles . i found 2" fabtech shackels and fabtech LCA's at the JY. so i was just going to buy some 2" spacers but then i seen that serious offroad has a great deal on 4.5" RE coils . my ? is i want around 5" of lift and ive heard that RE coils run a little tall and the 4.5" run about 5" to 5.5" is this true and how long before they sag and do they ride good cause my xj is a DD. I think new coils would be a lot better im just looking for some info. THANKS

I had em on my last xj and they were right at 4.5 .. no more.
Coils dont really affect how your jeep will ride.. thats your shocks.. speaking of shocks, if your adding height to your jeep your most likely going to need new shocks.

My suggestion.. buy the RE 4.5" coils from serious, get good shocks (in the right length)

3" to 5" isn't that simple.

Lift front (coils/spacers)
Lift rear (leaf springs/shackles)
Shocks
Extended brake lines
SYE and rear driveshaft
Track bar

I may be forgetting some. At 5", you're also approaching the limit of the stock steering setup, and you'll probably want bigger tires.

I wouldn't use a Rusty's track bar. They like to snap. And buy UCAs.

xj88.. not to hijack, but i read the 4.5 coils are pretty soft. 164lbs. makes for a nice ride, i guess, but wondering how much they'd squat with a bumper/winch combo of 130lbs? i made a thread, but it's being ignored.

also.. howie, what size tires are you trying to run? that should dictate the lift height you need.

Rustys coils are 150lb spring rate, they are nice and cushy.

On RE coils with a 130lb winch/bumper id suspect youll lose an inch
