In my opinion, 33s are gonna look tiny with 5" and trimmed fenders.

I am running 35s on 3 inches and it has a great stance, doesnt looked like its hacked to hell. id say go 3 inches and 33s.. would be a nice setup.

You cannot physically fit anything larger than a 31" tire in the wheel well with at least some trimming.

have to agree.. my last xj was 4.5" rusty coils and 34" LTBs. slightly trimmed fenders, but kept my flares. worked perfect.

my zj was 4.5" RE and 35s.. fenders were trimmed quite a bit.. worked perfect.

i'm not willing to trim my fenders on this xj, so that's why i'm asking about the 4.5" with winch combo. i'm currently at 2.5" RC coils and 245/75 on moabs. tucks in just perfect as well, but everything will change after i mount my winch.

OP, if you are willing to trim, keep it at 3". it will work with some bumpstopping. avoid the headache of going to 5" of lift. you won't need it. its a can of worms with SYE, driveshafts, brake lines, etc.. IMO

howie, you can look through my pics for my 2dr xj.. 4.5" and 34x10.50

Do those tires measure to 35"? I thought an XJ rear would take more metal work than that for true 35" tires on a true 3" lift.
