Default Rancho RS9000XL Shocks for XJ with 3" Lift

Just incase someone is thinking about getting these for their XJ with 3" lift. Don't, because they are not long enough even though the description says it is compatible with 0"-3" lifts. I got them in today and the rear shocks maxed out .25" short of the upper frame. So bummed, thought I was going to have an adjustable shocks.

This happens a lot. That is why it is always recommended to flex and measure before buying shocks.

I'm curious. you've been posting alot of troubles relating to your lift. How much lift did you actually get? I know you bought a 3 inch kit but alot of kits net more then that. Have you actually measured?

Haa! Cool that someone noticed that. Bad vibes and grinding are pretty much two issues I got since the lift even with a 1" TC drop.

I haven't measured yet. Floor to fender measurement? What is the regular stock height for the XJ?

Here's a pic of the lift.

That looks higher then 3 but that's just me. You measure from the center of the wheel hub to the very bottom of the fender flares. Measure and report back.

Stock is 17.5 front and 17 rear.

Your Jeep looks good. Nice rack. LOL

But seriously, for a 3 inch lift, you can't beat JK Rubicon take off shocks. To be clear, they are the red ones.

21" from the middle of the hub to the bottom of the fender. So apparently my Zone 3" lift is actually 4".

And there is why your shocks didn't work. It should settle though.

But shouldn't the shocks' extend higher the ride height for flex?

If they are not rated for 4 inches of lift I wouldn't think so. From what you are describing, they max out at 3.75 inches of lift
