Measure from the top of the axle tube to the uniframe directly above the axle. IIRC, stock measurement is ≈ 6 3/4" front and 6" rear.

if you want smooth, i'd take a look at old man emu shocks instead. they will be softer (but just as good!) than the bilsteins.

Bilstiens would be ideal. Especially on the procomp kit

Your ride is stiff for 2 reasons,

I can tell you as a former 4 Wheep Parts employee, The Procomp Springs are Stiff as hell ! and Rancho shocks are on the stiff side also. Switching to Bilstein 5100's may help a little but then you will still have those harsh riding not so flexy springs in there

Depending on how old the kit is the springs have recently changed I currently work for 4wp and the front springs are way softer.
