I'm hoping one of you experienced folks might give me a quick price check on what it would cost to build these diffs. It's a hurry up deal or I'd do the legwork myself. Found them for sale and are about exactly what I'm after for my '99 XJ project.
Critique as well if you see something you don't like about these. I don't know if the compressor might be included but will ask.

Thanks in advance.

It's about $1000 just for the gears and install. All the rest of the stuff you can find prices for online. How much are they?

Probably over 5 grand in parts alone.

Roughly 4-5K , But if your going to spend that amount of money you would be better off building a 8.8 and D44 or some D60's

If you're going to shell out the cash for chromo shafts don't cheap out on the joints. Nothing against spicer but why put a stock joint in a chromo shaft. For what you'll pay to build that front and get the hubs you could build an axle that actually came with hubs and have parts that are easily found and not a special order.

Yes, they are Eric's. I was asking how much you guys thought it cost to build them and the "how much you'd pay" was a natural progression from there. I spread it around to 3 forums to get as many answers as quickly as I could. I do appreciate the input.
Many say 1/2 of new cost which is generally estimated at $5k.. $2500.
But then some of the same guys are saying 1300 - 1600..
If $5k is the build price (parts only) and 1/2 price is fair he might be a tad over 1/2 at $2800.

I know it's my call and one of the factors is that I can drive a few hundred miles, load them in my pickup and get them in the XJ at my leisure - no research, no shopping around the net for parts, no trying to find a reputable setup shop for the gearsets, etc. And no bugging you guys for what should I build, where should I buy gears, lockers, axle shafts, ad infinitum.. and I WILL do that!
I'll not use my rig as a crawler but a good trail rig, elk hunting and maybe chained up in deep snow. I might tear it up a bit but it's not anywhere near the top of my priority list for the jeep.

An option I have is a Ford 9" behind my shop under the snow. Mid 80s F150 w/4.10 open. Current setup on XJ is 3.55 w/31 x 10.50, OME 3.5", JKS track bar, disconnects, adj. UCA/LCA, SYE/Tom Woods, AJ's PHATXJ winch bumper, Warn XD9000i, JCR Stage III sliders, JCR tire carrier rear bumper, JCR Xfer case skid, JCR fuel tank skid (yeah, I like JCR stuff), VisionX Optimus dual 10W LED 10*, 4' Firestik (CB TBD).

Thanks.

Ford 9" is a good axle but didn't come in mid 80s fords, that's a full width 8.8. Should be around 6" wider than your stock axle.

X2 and a full width axle is hardly necessary for 31's. Hell I run a locked d35 on 31's

For 2500 I could set you up with a HP44 and a 9" only 5" wider then stock axles.. and stronger then the upgraded axles he is selling.

ANything more then chromo's and a locker in a d30 is a waste. Also anything besides a locker in the 8.25 is a waste.

For the price of a full locking hubs on the front you can buy a d44 regear itand build a truss.

For the price of the disc brake conversionon th 8.25 you can buy a 8.8 and all the stuff to mount it.

Just my opinion. and I have been there and done that

Ford used the 9" through 85 in the f150 6 cyl 4sp. And in the econoline vans through about thesame period. They werent in ALL of these but were used still to end supply. There may be more also. My aunt bought an 84 f150 4wd straight 6 brand new, had a 9" factory.
