quick hp increase
I was looking for quick and inexpensive ways to increase my hp and gas mileage on my 91 xj. I've been looking into throttle body spacers and found one that increases up to 22hp. I've been replacing parts for years but never got into anything other than OEM. What else is there I can do?

Aren't any.
Throttle body spacers are a complete scam.
If you want to add that much power you need to do a full 2.5" exhaust system (header, downpipe, cat, muffler, tail pipe), and open up the intake as well with a bored throttle body and true CAI like a cowl intake. Should be about $600-1000 when you're done if you do it "right"
If you feel your Jeep is underpowered then you're lacking on maintenance or something is broken. If your Jeep is on big tires you need to regear. Your tire pressure may also be low.
The only way to get more than a token amount of juice out of a 4.0 is increasing displacement or forced induction.

There aren't any problems with my power. It would just be nice to have a bit more. I don't have a lift yet so no problems there. I keep up on maintenance regularly and the only thing wrong is a cracked weld in my exhaust manifold and a bad oil pan gasket which I'll be doing after the holidays. I appreciate the help though.

No dent, everything will fit under ther hood, the 4.9 doesnt add much(my friend had a 4.6 and you couldn't even tell) and turbo will be nicely tucked away, if anything I might go 1'' hood spacers

Haha It kinda just worked out that my favorite color is this purple. I don't see much purple ones around here, and when I do they're all stock. So mine stands out a bit, and definately will when I start adding some bright green highlighs(DS's, steering components, wheels, possibly interior lighting)
