Default Questions regarding strength on a built 8.25

Hey guys, I'm just getting all my plans together for when I have the money but I've got some questions about the 8.25 (29 spline) If it's got alloy shafts, a truss,4.88s, and an aussie w/ stock carrier should I be worried about the carrier grenading with 33s? It'd likely be the weakest part. Should I consider a full case locker instead?

if ur puttin in all that time, money, and expensive stuff in it, why stick with the stock carrier? i think that you will be better off gettin a full case locker like ARB, or detroit. but with only 33s, i think you will be fine

I pound my c8.25 on 33's. Its the 27 spline type and simple have a lunchbox locker. It did fine with 35's too. Granted my locker springs are worn out after 5+ years

The c8.25 will run 33's fine with no issues. I have seen axles break with 35's. I think you guys are lucky. Axle shafts for 27 and 29 spline are the same diameter. I would recommend runny alloy shafts. They are heat treated and larger in diameter. Also rated for about twice the strength over stock shafts.

Well, mostly because I already have the aussie, and a full case locker is another 700-800 bucks to put in. Just cost cutting I suppose. I'm just concerned about splitting the carrier under extreme load, I plan on having 4.88s and Tera 4:1 low.

Definitely going with the alloys, I figure if it's all torn down to regear why not do new shafts as well. By the way the 29spl does have slightly larger shafts.
