question about winches
I'm looking to get a rough country 9500 winch to put on my 89 xj my only concern is the almost 100# it will add to the front end ...... does this addition of weight make the 30 more prone to breaking axels..... I have cromolys in the front so I'm not really worried about breaking an axle but a friend of mine added an exo cage and then a smittybuilt 8000# winch and winch bumper and started breaking axles just looking for some feedback thanks guys

Yeah I can see ur driving having more to do with the breakage. Has anyone had anything bad to say about the rough country winch all I've heard is that they are a little on the loud side when operating

I added a Warn 9000 plus a large winch bumper and have ahd no problems with my stock D30. I did add a 1" spacer to get back some of the lift though. It sagged just a bit more than an inch with all the weight.

i got pulled out of some stupid terrible mud by a guy who had a warn 9500 dual force power plant. for what it could do and did, it wasnt that bad on sound.
we were wheeling in the tree line (about75' away) and the cars on the road where making more noise than the winch pulling me out
