question about a used Dana 30 lockrite locker
question about a used Dana 30 lockrite locker
I have a few questions about purchasing a used Dana 30 lockrite locker...
1.) How much is it worth, if used and local?
2.) anything that I should look for?
3.) anything that breaks on these?
4.) what likes to wear out on these?

Most I would pay would be about $180. When you install a used locker you have use a new pin kit.

not sure exactly.
but i bought mine brand new from a buddy who went a different route, paid 250 bux.
as with anything used, look to see it's all there. there is two springs and a small pin for each hole. one spring is smaller and fits inside the other.
also, check for wear on the teeth like rounded edges. although the front doesn't normally get used half as much as a rear.
that's about all that comes with it. can't remember if there are thrust washers for each side or not.
used, in decent usable condition, i'd say about 150 or so. depending on how bad you want one. they take a bit of work to install in the front. you will need to remove the ring gear, so pulling the carrier is a must.

Not really much to go wrong with these things just watch out for any visual signs of wear, as far as price personally $150 is the super high side for me when you can get a Spartan to your door for $220 tax and shipping included.
