Default quarter panel armor.

I have a dent in the rear quarter panel I was going to add armor to it. Should I get the dent repair first or just lay it Right over it? Its a rather large dent.

i am building my own diamond plate rockers and have several small dents where this will be going. i am trying to pull out most of the dents because on my test run it make an area for mud/rocks to get into and potentiall cause rusting issues

Same reason I want to cut mine out...I guess with a good thick coat of paint it should be good a good long while. You should see the rest of the dents that rock caused I need to go snag some doors as well

To anyone who has dents.

Just get dry ice and pass it over the dents.

You can thank me later.

okay. as far as armor goes, how would you attach it? any screws or rivets will promote rust even when painted as water can get in around them.

As for the 2 panels, yes it could rust inbetween them, My advice, would be to hammer the dent out from the inside, and find a way to mount the armor and seal everything up, otherwise, you'll have rust, just a matter of how many years its going to take to form. if you painted both sides of both panels, with chassis saver and the holes yoiu drilled, then you could really prevent the rust for the most part, and just top coat over the armor on the outside.

my.02 I've been considering 1/4 armor, but destroying those corners gives me an excuse to comp cut when I put the tons under it mwahahaha

If you want to create a bunch of little dents all over your big dent, then yes use a hammer. LOL

Don't do this!!!
