Been busy working in my shop making some money for the project. BUT progress has been made. Parts jeep was filled up with scrap(after this picture) and sold. I sold it to a scrapper who paid me 125$ for it. Lots more than i would've got scrapping it on my own. Couldnt be happier the way that went. Paid 200$ for the jeep, kept drivetrain, sold 250$ ish worth of parts off of it, and in the end sold it for 125$. Made about 175$ off of it and got a motor, trans, and transfer case out of it. Also pulled the knocking motor out of the other jeep. Im still gonna call it rod knock. Ready to pull Pulled! Sitting next to the comanche 4.0 Junkie 😝
Also dont think I've posted my axles that will go under these jeeps.
Stock 4.10 Factory Geared Axles out of a 1996 2 door cherokee with the 2.5, 5 speed, 4x4. Dana 35 front and Chrysler 8.25 rear.
Plans with the front is a lunchbox locker, already bought an aussie for it. Also going to get either a rear truss or top truss, c gussets, and some other beef. Havent decided yet becauee this jeep is getting a tdi at somepoint and oil pan clearance is limited already without a top truss. New balljoints, unit bearings, ujoints, and outer axle tube seals. I thought about a Wj knuckle swap but I havent thought it was worth it brake wise because I'm doing a rear disk brake swap. Steering is what's stopping me from doing it, having to modify track bar mount. The rear is going to get new bearings and seals, and a kj disk brake swap. Gonna hold off on the rear locker because of it still being a daily. Figured the front locker would allow me to do a better front dig and pull my up an obstacle instead of push me. They both will be sand blasted first and painted black before any of that. Now to seal the new motor and get ready to drop it in.

Started gutting the interior last night. Not bad. Floor is surprisingly clean Only surface rust ive already started to grind away Also should be able to get new door pins back in.
Motor mounts are bad. Got some on order, other than that, the motor is completely ready to go back in. Headers welded, intakes all painted. New distributer cap, rotor, and wires are installed. Have to clean and coat frame rails in engine bay with paint. Still dont know what yet.
Motors full of oil and is gonna get a transmission hooked to it this weekend. Did some junkyard buying today. Got a tilt wheel steering column, cluster, black interior panels for dash, and seats to replace my daily's seats that will go in this.
got everything mounted with the yj alt and ac mounts. Brings the alternator a lot higher. Needed a much shorter belt. 55$ dollars for a belt and pulley. I feel ripped off lol
got the door on and reinforced the hinges with some not so good weld . Have done better. Common 2 door issue with body cracking. Im cutting a plate out of an old jeep bumper to cover the vent completely with a hole for pressure. Ill weld that up so it doesnt keep cracking. Then I'll be able to wheel it after frame stiffeners with no issues. I think I'm gonna try to tackle the rusted spots now
