It could tear things up eventually. Check craigslist for a set. Those were pretty popular tires.

Different sizes tear up the 4wd different tread patterns do not. He should be ok. The best fix would be to properly rotate tires so they wear evenly.

Different brands run different heights. I don't think I would agree with you on the different tread patterns if the vehicle sees a lot of pavement. Off pavement, go for it.

On pavement he is in 2wd, output side of the tcase does nothing. When in 4wd regardless of tires it should be slippery conditions. He is also looking at the same brand same tire with an updated pattern.

if you just leave it out of 4wd on pavement it wont matter anyway...

as for the same brands thing, doesnt necessarily matter. 33" MT/Rs are taller than 33" duratracs and they are both goodyear

Im not leaving it out of 2wd I wanna be able to use it I don't see why the tire would be any bigger its the same make but the km2 is replacing km so the tread pattern will be different

Just put the same type on the same axle ,different heights of tires might affect lockers,if run on the same axle .

Agreed there is no reason to be in 4wd on dry pavement. It will be fine in snow and ice not to mention offroad.

If you are worried about running the two different tire heights just measure them, that way you'll know if there is any major difference in tire height.

Sounds like you will be just fine. Yet again I stress rotate your tires.
