So it seems from my experience of 8 jeeps 4 of which had long arm upgrades,
that the consensus on stock lower control arm mount removal is to plasma cut it off.
or cutting torch.
here what they look like to start ( not my picture but it shows what im talkin bout )

mine have already been plasma cut off.
so they looked like this

^^driver^^
i didnt take a pic of exactly what im talking about
but below you can see that the frame stiffener extends forward enough that the stock uca mount is in the way and needs to be completely removed..

so i got to work
after literally 90min of holding the grinder up in weird angles spraying sparks everywhere
they look about 30% better lol..

anyywayys my question is to those of you who have installed frame stiffeners..
what do you do to remove these?? is a grinder my best option or am i forgetting a valuable tool for this situation.
would i be better off just cutting that chunk of the frame off and tacking in a new piece ( doesnt have to be pretty just flat enough that the frame stiffeners can go on snugly. )
any advice or thoughts are apprieciated

angle grinder with cut off wheel. cut slots and bend upwards to make as flush as possible. did it on my previous jeep works ok but needs some TLC to get the stiffeners to fit properly

think of how you cut and fold a fender, same concept just bending and flattening to your best ability and yes you are right more muscle work and curse words than tender

yes sir, after doing the slots, i used a mini sledge to help "massage" that stubborn bastard up where i needed it. took some time but well worth the effort, i wanna say it took 2-3 hours to get it how i wanted

might sound kind of retarded, but ive cut off stubborn chunks of thin guage plate with a big, sharp cold chisel and a bfh. we actually learned how to do it in first year machining. i've done the same to various welds in the past as well. but i like hitting things with hammers...
I always try to drill out the spot welds and then hit it with the air hammer with chisel attachment. That has always worked the best for me. Grinder is usually plan B.

Any idea where exactly the tacks are? Or should I be able to find them?
I haven't really looked for em yet and won't have time in the light until this weekend.
