I just did the IRO HnT 2 weekends ago on my 98 sport with a NP 242. I ended up trimming the yoke a bit because it seemed long. The instructions said to keep a minimum of 1" total spline engagement or whatever. So I just trimmed the output shaft to 1" of splines and then trimmed the yoke until it fit over perfectly nice and flush the output shaft. Don't know if that helps you at all. But that's what I did.

I had to do the same thing to my IRO HNT. I know a third guy online that had to do the same. I wonder if they wanted you (me) to use the 3-4 thick washers to "take up space" and then you wouldn't have to cut the yoke? It wouldn't be strong though. They didn't say anywhere in the instructions that you would have to cut the yoke, just the shaft. I called them and asked that they think about adding that to help others so they are prepared when they start. I'd rather cut the longer yoke down than cut the output shaft too short.
I cut the output shaft to the 33-3/4" length, and the yoke was 3/4-1" too long (there was a gap of that distance between the face of the shaft, and the brazed washer on the yoke).
I still have slight vibes in the rear driveshaft. I'm pretty pissed about that. Maybe I need to cut the output shaft shorter to give it a better angle?
I have about 1-1/2" of splines. Is that tto much? I know it's a universal fit kit, so I'm not blaming them for it not working perfectly on MY set-up. I was pretty supprised to see a HNT with double cardan XJ driveshaft have vibes though. WTF.
X91J-that picture is way too small. If you get a photobucket account, you can post a full size pic here. pm me if you have questions.
