i own a 99 xj. I just bought an overhead console on ebay that was supposed to be out of a 99 xj limited which it may be, but it has different connectors. In 99 they changed it to just one big plug which is what my jeep has. But the harness this guy sent me is an older type harness. If the wires all looked the same i could just splice them but they do not.. so im bad at wiring and confused here can anyone help me? According to that post you have the 00-01 style wiring and you have an early 99 OHC.

You just need diagrams for both harnesses and you'll be good to go.

I'd be willing to bet that if you PM JEEPZZ on NAXJA he'll be able to help you with that.

I messaged him but no response. Good news is i just spliced all the wites together all of them matched except for 1 wire which when touched activate the door locks so probably goes to the keyless entry board for the OHC. The only thing that doesnt work now is the lights on the visors when you flip them open. Maybe i burned out a fuse for them or something?

 

Ok the visors work now that i put them back up? Maybe the screws that hold them in place are the ground? Anyways now im done but cant figure out how to mount the bracket to put the console up.. Ill take some pics.

Edit: got it just had to drill the rivets out that held up the older bracket for the dome light.
