I bought a few cans of flat clear Plasti Dip to do the bottom half of my mom's Tahoe. She was going on a vacation where she would be driving on narrow trails lined with manzanita and desert sage. I had spent three days buffing out the trail rash from the year before so I decided to try the Plasti Dip route to temporarily protect the paint. Worked perfectly. Not a single branch or twig went through the dip. You could definitely see where it had scratched against it but I peeled it off and the paint was perfect.

So for those who suggest it just falls off or that it won't take moderate abuse... you did it wrong.

I agree. I love the stuff. Ran into some limbs and even got her stuck in "quicksand" rocks in a river and she held her own. Not a single scratch and we only used 2 coats

Interesting snorkel setup you have. Care to take a few under-hood pics and elaborate a bit about it?

That was the previous owners doing. He thought it looked cool and it was cheap. I do like it. Its different. But wouldn't mind an actual snorkel.

thanks for sharing. From the pictures I originally thought that it was more toward the back of the cowl. Odd that he placed it in the middle of the hood. I am certain that it breathes substantially better now!
