Default PlastiDip XJ

Looking to get my jeep plastisip. I currently have a 99 XJ and its black but the paint is faded, and found a guy that does these jobs for very inexpensive.
I wanted to see everyone opinions/suggestions on colors..... I thought of camo tan, or even firebelly orange.

What do you guys think?

Paint it. Plasti dip never has lasted over a week on anything I've tried it on. Not worth the time and money to plasti dip something, especially if you're paying someone to spray it on there.

My buddy did his tj a month ago it already is pealing and looks like crap. Bed liner in a can would be my option if my paint was that bad

My plasti dip on an old truck rocker panel lasted well over a year for me.

If you do plasti dip, try it yourself. It's pretty easy.

It's going to be pointless asking people on here. How long plasti dip lasts depends on where you go and how well you clean your car before you put it on and how well you put it on. I dipped my first jeep and I just kept touching it up if something went wrong and I had it camo tan for almost two years before I sold it, just did it to my jeep I have now and it's been about 5 months and it's flawless, lasted through a bad hailstorm and I only had to touch up like one spot. Don't pay someone to plasti dip it for you because if you do it yourself you'll realize how easy it is. But yeah. Alot of people say it doesn't last more than a week or whatever. I guess they don't know what their doing or something, everyone I know hasn't had a problem.

Isn't that stuff a pita to remove?

Just saying in case you decide later on for actual paint.

No, that's the problem. You can peel it right off. It peels off by itself...

Have you ever used platidip before? It might look easy to remove, but unless your really want to remove it or you didn't apply enough coats (4-5) it won't move.

Yeah it's only like a step away from the Bedliner you get in cans. If you do it well it's really good stuff.

I bought 12 rattlecans off ebay for less than $100, it's been on for almost a month though three offroad trips, two pressure washes, a hailstorm, and 100 degree heat. It still looks great (I get compliments on it all the time), washes well, and is really easy to touch up.

If you're worried about it sticking too well just wax your rig before you dip it. Cooking spray like PAM on the fenders and lenses negates the need to mask from overspray- it just wipes off.
