I have a 1997 xj with a Durango steering box So I bought the xj with the Durango steering box already installed. I just broke the pitman arm and I can’t find one that fits. The Cherokee one kinda fits box but does fit tie rod. Does anybody know what exact Pitman arm I need to buy or do I need to modify the whole that connects to the tie rod???

 

The XJ pitman arm fits the Durango/Dakota box.

I do not know what the Durango arm looks like, but I did the box swap on my XJ and the pitman arm fit fine.

EDIT: Just saw you posted over in the "modified" section. You got LOTS of good info over there.
Why post in another section with pretty much the same thing?

 

I didn’t know how to get to the others post. Did your pitman arm fit snug all the way up on the gearbox or did you have a half inch gap plus
