Default Peugeot to AX15 - flywheel?

Hi,

I have a 1987 Cherokee Chief 5 speed with the Peugeot transmission, she is loose as hell and ready for replacement. I have read a few guides and lots of information but have a few questions!

I bought a 1998 AX15/bellhousing with 231J transfercase. I will pickup a slave cylinder and master for the 98 as well as a clutch and pressure plate that fits the 1998. I also believe I need a different pilot bushing, will have to find out from which vehicle, if someone knows would be much appreciated.

Now is the flywheel in the 1987 the same as the one from the 1998, do I have to use the one with my jeep or should I be switching to the 1998 flywheel? Also I have the cross-member from the 98, is it even needed or just a new mount?

If anyone else has any other insight or experience with this swap.. all ears!

Also crossmember will be moving back too second set of mounting hole the holes are allready threaded just run a tap thru them to clean out years of gunk. Also use your entire speedo cable setup on new transfer case. The linkage Tc will need to be addressed as brackest are different from ba to Ax.

Thanks for the info. The bolts are even on the 87 for the cross member? Should I be using the 98 cross member or the 87 or are they the same and just grab a new mount for the 98 transmission?

Good news I can use my flywheel, will probably just get it resurfaced not sure if its needed. I do use the clutch and pressure plate from the 98 right?

I'll be grabbing a new slave/master for the 98 as I'm not modding the lines.. My luck it will leak haha.

Holes in frame should be there. Every thing from behind your old fly wheel use from the other year. A new fly wheels the way I went there not very costly at all .Ill get you the part number and post it here in a few. There was something different between the renix clutch master and the new style in how it bolted to firewall ill grab a look tomorrow and post it up.

Freegdr what did you do to modify the tc linkage? I have the connection from the ax15. Did you have to use the tc shifter from the ax15 donor?
