Default Personal Opinion Gear / Tire

I would like to poll everyone and see what personal opinions you have regarding gear and tire size. What size tire could you successfully run on 3.55 gears , 4.0l , and 231 t-case without sacrificing performance?

I'm not sure how my jeep felt stock because when I bought it it had 31's but when I went from 31's to 33's I was able to tell a significant difference but it felt fine with 31's as far as I could tell.

X 2 on 30x9.50s. If you want performance to be like stock even going on up to 31X10.50s you will want 4.10 gears. At 33s you will want 4.56 gears. At 35s you will want 4.88s. Anything bigger and you should look at bigger axles IMHO.

Id say 3.55-3.73 for Stock-32's. 33's would either be 4.10-4.56. And 35's would need 4.56.

My 4.0 with 32's and 3.56's wont run 75 mph on flat land without trying to down shift! That is not an opinion, that is a fact. IMHO run anything over 30's and you need to gear down.

I got 33s and I am running auto/3.55 gears... it's not bad in the city, BUT I get better mileage if I run it in 3rd gear instead of drive when I am on the highway

next on the list is 4:56 gears, unless I can find a cheap set of 4:10 axles
