Performance Chip???? worth the money?
So odviously is getting more and more expensive to drive the jeep but i love it and im stickin to it but definatly need a way to get some better mileage. Ive been lookin at programmers and perforance chips latly and how u can set them for economy or for perfomance, cuz goin to work i need the mileage but other times i like the power, Ive got a 98 cherokee w/ intake 2in lift and 30s let me know if you have one and how you like it or some good brands to buy

dont waste the time n a chip. i put a cold air intake on my 96 which doesnt really do/mean much since there isnt really such a thing as a cold air intake on a cherokee....unless you louver your hood. i installed 2 louvered hood vents on my driver side. one of them vents out back just above the exhaust and intake manifolds to get rid of all of that heat. the other is turned around and vents air straight down onto my aFe cai. it sounds kinda stupid but i i jumped up from 19 to 24mpg highway with this mod. so consider getting some cool air into your engine compartment. it works wonders.

Get your ignition checked. Bad ignition=bad gas milage.
I swapped all ignition parts at once for just the principle of it.
Bought MSD balster coil, Davis distributor, cap and wires. NGK V-power plugs.
Engine runs like a happy cat. The blaster coil will save your starter motor as engine will fire more instantly.

Put the money into a good tune-up. I have "heard" that the Edge Trailjammer will help if you do the 99 intake upgrade, cam, ignition upgrade, and assorted other upgrades cause it tricks the computer into thinking is at -40 deg. But the money is still better used for those items and others, vice the chip.

did a lot of reading on this before because i was and still am trying to get better gasmileage and chips don't work. on the Trailjammers..only thing that that made an improvement was the bored TB that comes with it. Complete tune-up, intake/exhaust, replace mech fan to electric, etc. don't waste your $$ on performance chips
