Default Parts list for build

Hey all so I have done a ton of reading on this forum and it has been really helpful. Now a little about my rig. We got it in December and it already had the following on it:
  • 6.5 in RC lift with 3 in blocks in rear
  • Short arm lift
  • 33's for tires-pretty worn
  • crap steering
  • black steelies
  • stinger front bumper
  • Roof rack
Now here are the plans and I won't start until I have all the funds set aside
  1. Get rid of blocks and put 5.5 in leafs in with shackles
    • was thinking IRO for this but any help/cheaper option would be great
  2. Upgrade steering to OTK
    • Down to either IRO 5/8th or Serious 1 ton
    • little bit of a price difference, but I want it to be done right
  3. Double sheer track bar
    • IRO for sure on this one
  4. Long arms
    • Between serious and IRO and help would be great read up both on them
  5. SYE eventually needs to be done with this high of a lift
    • Not 100% sure who to use have heard many people recommending different vendors
  6. Upgrade tires to 33's Mickey Thompsons
  7. Need to get new gears and switch to 4.88 in case I want to upgrade to 35's
    • Haven't done ton's of research on vendors here so any help would be great
  8. New battery
  9. Hood Vents
A few other small items here and there but that is the main stuff. I like getting my stuff from the same place, but also want something durable and not RC(no offense to anyone on here just don't want it on my rig)

Any suggestions or help would be welcomed and here is just the beginning of my project.

The cheapest 5.5 inch leaf springs out there are Skyjacker Softrides right around 140 each JCR55RSB. 4 wheel drive hardware has them the cheapest.

Rustys Off Road for Leafs and Coils, also for gear sets a best buy for quality Motive gears w/install kits. I run 4.56's with my 33's and 35" tire sets.

That is a good choice for a Dbl. Shear Track Bar
For TRE's you could save some money (a lot) by doing the ZJ upgrade unless you are building an all out Rock Crawler. I run the ZJ setup still now on 4 yrs and no problems, many times stronger than stock and only about $100. Another plus with them they are a direct bolt in no re-drilling of everything like ones listed.

SYE use an Advanced Adapter one good quality.

Long Arms keep doing your research there are better choices.

With this size lift you will need adj. upper and lower control arms.

Tires will depend on usage and how much use on highway/off road.

Good luck read a lot I did for a year before I bought mine and parts buying began.

Thank you for the advice! I've been watching the forum for about 7 months now just taking as much info as I can in. I like your idea on the ZJ bar especially since that will help cut the costs down by about $300-$400. I will check out rusty's for the coils and leafs and all that. The gears I am hoping to get done as soon as I can. I know what I think I am going to here, but would you recommend an axle swap for my build even though I don't plan on doing anything like rock crawling for a long time?

I will need to take some time researching adj. uppers and lowers. I have seen quite a few on here and saw someone on here makes them, but they are not active anymore.

Long arms are the newest thing for me since I started researching them about a month ago since I know it will provide a better ride and be a whole lot better then short arms, so that is one I will continue searching on.

Appreciate the help!

Good call on Rusty's. I can get the 6.5 in leaf springs, and 6.5 in coils for $540 with shipping while it would have cost $692.48 through IRO since I would have had to get 5.5 in leaf springs, 1 in shackle and springs

On the long arms I've read a lot about cavfab three link any opinions?

On the leafs would I be better off going with 5.5 leafs with a 1 in boomerang shackle or go with 6.5 in leafs and call it a day?

Why so tall? Go with a 4.5" leaf and a 1" lift shackle.

Note: Avoid teraflex shackles mine were so poorly crafted I threw up a little bit

Honestly it was only because that's the higher it had previously, if I could I would go just 4.5 or so as long as I can run 35s

I feel 4 1/2"'s of lift is all you really need that is what I run on mine with both 33's and 35" tires, you just need to trim your fenders.
Here is a photo of mine with my street 33" tires on it the 35's are for off road only.

Thank you guys I will look into the 4.5 in. Luckily I already have trimmed fenders so that's not gonna be a problem. With the 4.5 in if I remember right I will need adjustable control arms or long arms, the iro track bar, extended brake lines, and would I need an sye/drive draft? Would y'all recommend getting 3.5 in leafs and a 1-1.5 in boomerang shackle or 4.5 in leafs? I'm assuming the shackle would be better off correct?

I'd go with 3.5" leafs, extended shackles, and shackle relocation boxes.

If you want an opinion here's what I'd do. It comes with pretty much everything you'd need for the lift (minus shackle relocation boxes).

Long arms, SYE, Driveshaft, Track bar is all included.

Thank you Photojared. That looks like a great option that includes everything. Do you like those LA's better then your IRO LA's?

Both are good but IRO wouldn't be my first choice.
