I'm building an otk steering and was just wondering what size/wall tube to use for track bar? Also planning on the ruff stuff offset ota track bar mount on axle side. This the best option? Can I still use my rugged ridge double shear frame side mount?

 

1.5" OD .25" wall is the popular option.

Most use the Ruffstuff offset track bar mount. You can keep your frame mount if everything lines up with the correct geometry, but I like having the adjustable options on both sides.

Check Barnes 4wd, they have good prices on brackets and Rod ends. HObrian13 is a vendor on here and can hook you up.

 

I was just looking at ruffstuffs 3/4 chromolly heims. That's what most seem to like.

 

I used the ruffstuff offset kit it uses 7/8 heims. I used a r.e frame side mount works great and it's braced

 

That kit is a little pricey for me. I'm not going any bigger than 35s on my d30 and I don't wheel crazy hard so 3/4 shoukd be fine for me. Nice to know about the re bracket though.

 

I just bought everything separately and didn't get the frame side from ruffstuff. I think i paid like $300 for everything including 3/4 heim steering shipped. During a 20% off sale. Like there having now

 

Mine is 1.5" .25 DOM with 3/4" heims, just like my steering, and seems to work well.

 

What are you guys paying for your dom where you are? Just curious.

 

Same here for 1.5 .25 wall dom.
But I'm using ruffstuff 7/8 Heims.

 

For 1.25" .25" wall it's around 8-10 bucks a foot. Cheaper if you buy a full stick.

 

Hmmm. 11-12 per ft round here....
