this is my first post as I'm new to this forum. My question can I just pull some leafs from a stock set to add to my existing pack to gain some height to the rearend? If this has already been beat to death I appoligize and hope you'll point me to the right posts. Dayton

Just grab new springs, do it once and done.

You could try a "bastard" pack using S10 or Dodge Dakota leaves, I've done this in the past and good height and ride out of it, but your XJ no matter what age is going to have pretty worn and probably bad springs to start with. Just buy new leaf packs and drop them in.

Anyone know what height the xj rear end was when stock.
I added two leafs to the rear and went from 17” to 20” just wanted to know what new xj height was when new?

Quote: a definitive way to measure is from the top of axle tube(no steering linkage or anything but the actual tube) to the bottom of the frame rail(again nothing but the frame rail).

stock front: 6 3/4"
stock rear: 6"
