Anyone have any experience with the older Goodyear mtrs?? Thinking about grabbing a used set anyone have any pros and cons???

they are a good tire. great rock tire. Quiet on the road too.

Heavy, suck in mud, decent on the road and rocks. Once they get to about half tread they will be like a drag slick in mud.

Mine have almost no tread left but they stick to rocks like nothing else.

I can get a set of 37s for like 500 bucks with 85% tread left probabally use them for more of a road tire that way I can just run a set of beadlock bias plys offroad

Go for it. I personally prefer the old MT/R over the redesign.

Have to agree with that but I don't like the new design at all.

i liked mind. only drawback is they are so heavy. my 31 seemed heavier than my new hankook 32s

I like my 35's, they are the best snow goin tires I have had. I would get some more if I could.

me too. old over new.

only problem is you can't find a new replacement if one goes.

I have had them on many different vehicles and I really like them. Can't say much on mud but great on street rocks and dirt. Tough too I have never had a flat mtr. I personally like the new kevlars too they are amazing in rocks and still good on street

Seems to be the general opinion in mud, but i run more trails than anything else occasional mud but that is what the winch is for I guess hoping to get some bias rockers soon for a second set
