Default Old Man Emu transfer case drop question

I've installed a 1.5" lift kit from OME on my 96 Chrokee Sport 4wd and have a question about the transfer case drop part of the kit.
I can see where the two rectangular spacers go between the chassis and cross member, got that.

There is a "single round spacer that should go between guard and chassis" with a hole for a bolt ?? I do not know where this piece goes ??

I'll post a pic of what I'm talking about from my phone.
Thank you for your help.
Neal

The last pic shows the spacer and instructions.
Thank you for your help.

I may be wrong but I believe that one spacer is for the bolt that would hold up your transfer-case skid near the pinch welds, if you had a transfer-case skid.
Also I have the same exact lift kit except I have Blisten shocks and I have no vibrations what so ever. Also I upgraded my tierod and used a RTC steering stabilizer when I switched over. I wouldn't run a tc drop.

I personally wouldn't bother with a TC drop on a 1.5" lift, most people don't have any issues with drive-line vibes up to 3" of lift and I don't think I've ever heard of issues on less than 2".

I believe the single spacer is if you have a TC skid plate which would usually have 2 bolts on the cross-member and 1 on the frame rail (O.E., most after-market skid-plates are larger and have more bolts). If you don't have a skid-plate that single spacer is likely unnecessary.

Shouldn't be necessary.

TC drop has nothing to do with death wobble. And a steering stabilizer is basically useless.

I agree, tc drop shouldn't be needed with 1.5" lift.

Default Thank you

Thank you for the help !

I went ahead and installed the TC drop and its seems to have helped the drive-ability on the road.

The 1.5" lift suspension kit looks more like 2 to 2.5" in the rear:

I need to take it for a longer drive, it seems like the rear drums where warm to hot after a short drive. The brakes are OK, I'm thinking I need to adjust the e-brake ??

Thanks again !

If your going to be going Off-Road, I'd remove the TC Drop. The lift does you no good gaining ground clearance if you just drop your lowest hanging point by the same amount.

If this is just a street ride then keep it if it makes things comfortable.

I use the Jeep to drive on the beach for fishing and surfing.
The TC drop did help a little while on the road.
Installing the kit was alot of work but I'm glad I not dragging my *** anymore.
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers

With that small a lift no way would I lose an 1 1/2" in clearance in a low area to begin with.

Most people don't use any with a 3-3 1/2" lift and are fine.
