Default offroad foglights not working

alright guys n gals, I'm new to the whole forum/jeep thing. recently I started modding my own jeep and bought some offroad lights from walmart for 20 bucks (I know "that's the problem"). but they seemed to be a decent quality for the price. I currently have them mounted on my roof and have all the wiring hooked up, but they are not turning on. I have not taken a meter to them to see if they are getting power yet. I noticed that on the switch there are only two plugs (one for the lamp wire and one for the power wire), no ground wire. most foglights I've messed with did have a ground wire on the switch. my question is, would this have anything to do with the problem? if so what could I do about it? again I am a newbie to this so the answer could quite possibly be super simple and I'm just missing it.

How do you have them wired?

from the battery: Power wire with built in 15amp fuse to the switch. lamp wire from the switch to both power wires of the lights. the ground wires on the lights are in between the mounting brackets and roof rack. this is the wiring setup the instructions tell me to do. pic below.

another question, could it be possible they aren't ground enough?

Not sure about them not working without a good ground. Break out your meter and start poking around with it.

I poked around with the meter and found out they weren't ground well enough. so I rigged the wires and ran em to the roof rails and now they work great! pretty bright for cheap little $20 lights.
