This will give you alot of light for very little current draw which is nice when out in the middle of no where and just idling along or sitting and watching someone do their thing etc..

Harbor Freight has cheap 100watt off road lights. They are the brightest and cheapest budget lights in my opinion

Thats about 40amps. If all are on and your not above about 1300rpm you will be killing your battery the whole time. Not to mention if you have a radio, amp, cb, ac or heater, headlights, tail lights, and engine also draining from 10-50 more amps. A typ early model alt is 90amp MAX when new at max charging so basically about 20 at idle and up to 70-80 for a used alt at about 3000+ rpm.

I know people do it. But there are much better ways to get light these days.

Just some info...

anything less than a hella 500 is a waste of money IMHO. cheap lights just splooge a maginal amount of light in no comprehensible pattern a lame distance.

I would go withe either the hella 500 or hella micro ff lights both run 60$ a set and are extremely durable they would defiantly be a lot better than most of your 20$ lights.

I know people think of light bars and think of big $$$, the truth is they are coming down in prices and becoming the most light for your money.
you can buy three sets of hf lights that suck a lot of amps from your rig, take up a lot of space and still give you "okay" output.

With newer LEDs you can get a smaller light for just as much $ as the multiple sets of halogens youre thinking of buying, the LEDs are in an aluminum housing instead of a plastic one like your hf lights, and most importantly it will be brighter than your halogen hf lights.

Our pods take .83 amps per pod...

Our 10 inch led bar $219 plus $10 shipping to the lower 48.

If thats too much $$ theres are small pods for $89 per pair

This picture is the output from ONE pod, so for $89 you get double the lighting as this pic shows...
