Default Nv3550 help

I have a lifted Xj with a nv-3550 in it. It’s got the usual throw out bearing whine but seemed like a new clutch and drove great but now it’s developed a habit of when you’re low rpm and give it any good amount of gas, it Revs like it’s in neutral or it broke the tires free and then once it idles back down it drives good to go again. Anyone have any guesses what it could be? I don’t know much about manuals that’s why I figured I’d ask you guys. Clutch is very healthy and you don’t smell any clutch burn. Came one day out of the blue

The only thing with those symptoms is that the clutch disc is worn out and only engaging a little. It will only get worse and will eventually cause enough heat in the flywheel it may need replacing too. It is time to do a clutch job. When you do, have the flywheel turned or the new clutch will chatter.

I am getting ready to install an NV3550 in my rig. (95 2dr 4x4, all stock). How do you like it?

Definite clutch problem. Why would you want a NV3550 instead of the AX-15?

Definitely clutch. Do yourself a favor and spend the $250 on a kit that has everything (ToB, disk, pressure plate, clutch master/slave) You'll already be in there and you won't have the think about it for another 250k miles. Patman, I have a NV3550 too. I like it. With 31s on the highway at 65, it stays around 1700 rpms which helps with the gas mileage. Gears are spaced nicely and I don't feel like I'm constantly in just one gear all the time.
