Exclamation NP242 Transfer Case help

hi all i need some help please .....
i have jeep cherokee 1990 limited 4.0L stock jeep ....
my transfer case np242 ... 2wd... part time.. full time..n....4low....



i am thinking to make the transfer case more power ..... like from 2.72:1 to bigger ???

... is there a kit or something i can buy it ??? please with part number ???

If you had a 231 you could get a tera low kit and have a 4 to 1, about the same price as a 241OR out of a rubi but I'm not sure if you can get it in 21 spline for your 90 model. Another option would be a doubler.

Do you run it in 4Lo ? That is where the 2.72:1 is used.
I understand there is no aftermarket support for the 242 when it comes to lower ratios.
A 231 swap might be the easiest way.

Nope. NP242 is what it is.

NP231 has a bunch of stuff like chain upgrades as well as the 4:1 kit and 2-Lo
