Yes they do. The 242 is a wonderful transfer case. Full time 4wd is very handy. All ya gotta do is move the lever from fulltime to parttime and bingo!! It's a 231!!

I love my np242. I am often taking it snowboarding so the 4-full time is really nice and easy when on snowy roads. I also do some decent off roading around Arnold CA and it has no problems. There is no way I would switch to a 231. For me there is no point. I firmly believe send what you have until it breaks. I can find a 231 case at the junk yard for $100.

Any of you guys have ideas on what one would cost from the JY? And would I take the transmission along with the transfer case? Or can I adapt the 242 to my existing trans?
