Hey I have the 231 t-case in my xj and I was wondering what your opinions/experiences were with the 231. Should I swap to a 242? I am planning to run 33s, lockers, and around 5.5 inches of lift. Mostly off road use but some on road travel as well. Thanks!

That's what my buddy said too. Since I will be doing an SYE and I guess there aren't too many kits for the 242.

 

No there arent and IMO the 231 is a better transfer case. The 242 does have the "full time" feature which is nice in the snow but I have had no issues with my 231

I've got the 242 and havent had any problems out of it.
